4th Annual “Darby Bitter Root Descendants Reunion”
June 17 – 19, 2011 at the Darby Clubhouse
Plans are well underway for the “Darby Roots Reunion,” (formerly the Darby Pioneer Reunion). Whether you’re from pioneer stock or are new to Darby Tiger Country, you are invited!
• Programs on “Moonshine Days in the upper Bitter Root,” “The Salish,” “History of Lake Como” “Lumber & Timber Life” are shaping up. Many old-timers will recall their family connections in the Darby area. Everyone is encouraged to bring photos, exhibits, albums, scrap books, CD’s, to share your family’s connections.
• Kids Activities and games are being planned to keep the younger Darbarians entertained, educated and active.
• BBQ Montana Hamburgers Friday evening, catered, for only $5 per person and surrounded by a pot luck of local favorite side dishes.
• A Jam of musicians of all skills will keep toes a tapping and feet a dancing around the BBQ.
• Saturday Night BBQ of “Montana Beef, Pork, Lamb, and Elk,” donated from the Click Ranch, and prepared by Moose Creek BBQ, is also only $5. It will be surrounded by a potluck of savory Bitter Root dishes.
• T-Shirts are designed; discounts will be given for pre-orders. See designs and colors on the web-page. Books and items of local interest will also be available for sale.
• Throughout the weekend, a Silent Auction of antiques, arts, crafts, tools, & gift certificates to help defray costs for this year and stash some away for the 2012 Reunion.
• An all day Field trip with historians up the “East & West Forks” is being considered Monday 6/20, as well as a short trip up Lick Creek to the Historic Old Logging camp of yore.
